You know, it's harder to love the lady that rear-ended
us on our honeymoon now. Yesterday I got some bad
news from my chiropractor. It didn't hurt that much- but,
obviously his motto must be right- You only see and feel
the tip of the iceberg. Now seven months later, following
my first x-ray, I know why my dear husband is always
roped into using his massage skills on me so often!!!!
(Thank-you hun ) He said I have some kind of herniated
disk/compression fracture with these little node things??,
mild disk degeneration, a bone spur, pretty bad misalignment
in my upper back, 81% loss of curvature in my neck and loss
of curve in my mid-lower back. Translation: Ouch is only
going to get worse over time. I was thinking,
"How can this be my back???!!! But there were the
x-rays right in front of me as proof. Okay, so he starts
me on intense therapy right then and there.
Electrostimulation therapy, traction and adjustments 3 times
a week, and the usual at home exercises and stretches
twice a day with ice 2 or 3 times a day. I'm
excited to see how much improvement comes after about
5 weeks like this. He said I can expect return to normal
or near normal. But it's not going to be easy or pleasant.
Yesterday being my first treatment, has left me feeling
like I was hit by a truck!!! Yes, the therapy hurts more
than the injury itself!! He promised me that before I started.
So, please keep me in your prayers as I do my best to keep
up with my own homework and deal with this pain after
each treatment. In the end, it will all be worth it
